Garage Door Repair
Springs, cables, tracks, rollers, or openers — our technicians diagnose the actual mechanical problem…
View ServiceFrom a snapped torsion spring on a subzero morning to an opener that stopped responding, our background-checked technicians diagnose the real problem first and quote it honestly before any work begins.

Naperville Garage Door Repair Guys was started in 2012 by Pete Voss, who spent years installing doors on new-construction homes across the western suburbs before deciding to focus on repair work full-time. He ran the company solo out of a single truck for the first two years, and the rule he set on day one — explain what's actually wrong before touching anything — is still how every technician on our crew operates today.
We're a locally owned, family-owned business, not a national call center that dispatches whoever's closest. Our technicians are background-checked and insured, and every quote is upfront and honest, with no invented fees and no pressure to approve work you don't understand. We repair springs, cables, tracks, rollers, and openers, and we install new doors and opener systems for homeowners across Naperville and the surrounding suburbs.
Naperville's climate is part of why this work stays busy year-round. Cold winter mornings cause torsion springs to contract and lose tension, which is why spring failures cluster on the coldest days rather than happening gradually, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles can shift a slab just enough to throw a track out of alignment. Warm, humid summers bring their own issues, from thickened opener lubricant to swollen panels. Fourteen years of working on doors in this exact climate means we've usually seen your specific problem before.
From a single broken spring to a full door replacement, our technicians handle repair, installation, and opener work for homes and businesses across the western suburbs.

A door stuck open or closed can't wait a week. We prioritize urgent calls and offer same-day scheduling whenever our route allows it.
Pete Voss founded this company in 2012, and the crew he's built since has been repairing doors across Naperville and nearby suburbs ever since.
Residential sectional doors, commercial overhead doors, and the openers that run them — our technicians handle both sides of the job.
We check springs, cables, tracks, rollers, and opener function as a connected system, because a problem in one part often shows up as a symptom in another.
You get a plain-language explanation of what's wrong and a free quote before any repair starts, with no obligation to move forward on the spot.
Tell us what the door is doing and we'll get you a same-day appointment where possible.

You get a plain-language explanation and a free written quote before any work begins.
Once you approve the work, we complete the repair and test the door's full balance and cycle before we leave.
We run daily routes through Naperville, Plainfield, Bolingbrook, Woodridge, Lisle, Aurora, Wheaton, Warrenville, Oswego, and Downers Grove.
Pete Voss grew up in Plainfield and started working weekends for his uncle's overhead door installation crew while he was still in high school. After years installing doors on new-construction homes across the western suburbs, he moved into repair work full-time and founded Naperville Garage Door Repair Guys in 2012, running the business solo out of one truck before bringing on his first additional technician.
He got serious about doing spring and cable work strictly by the book after watching a homeowner attempt a DIY torsion spring adjustment that ended in a trip to the emergency room, and he still keeps the mangled winding bar from that job in his toolbox as a reminder. Read more about Pete's background, the values that shape how our crew works, and how he still finds time to coach his kids' robotics team on weekends.

Cost depends on which component failed, the size and weight of the door, and how accessible the mechanism is. We provide a free, upfront quote after inspecting the door in person, before any work begins, so you know the cost before agreeing to anything.
We strongly recommend against it. Torsion and extension springs store enough tension to cause serious injury if released or adjusted with the wrong tools or technique, which is why spring work should be left to a trained technician.
We offer same-day appointments where possible and prioritize doors that are stuck open, stuck closed, or otherwise unsafe. Call anytime — if you reach us after hours, we return those calls first thing the next business day.

Cold temperatures cause torsion springs to contract and lose a portion of their working tension, which is why spring failures cluster on the coldest days of the year rather than happening gradually. A pre-winter tune-up can catch a spring that's near the end of its cycle life before it snaps.
Both. Our technicians diagnose and repair opener motors, logic boards, drive systems, and safety sensors in addition to springs, cables, tracks, and rollers, since a door problem often turns out to be an opener problem.
